Helen Holland

Helen Holland has been building 1:12th scale architectural models for over 25 years. After building a variety of dolls houses she was commissioned by Leonardslee Gardens near Horsham, to build a model of an imaginary country estate circa 1900.

Beyond the Dolls House

The exhibition, "Beyond the Dolls House" started in 1999 and was extended over ten years to include a market town and mansion house. First the outer reaches of the estate with workers and outbuildings were added; then the components of a rural village and with the construction of a department store and craftsmen workshops it started to grow into a small town. It was finally completed in 2008 and is now believed to be the largest and finest in the world.
